Who We Are

SPRITES is a philanthropic organization of mothers and daughters dedicated to volunteering their time and resources to San Diego County charities.

SPRITES began in 1968 as an organization to teach teens, grades 7-12, the value of volunteering in their community, while building strong relationships with others. "SPRITES" is an acronym that describes the group.

SPRITES recognizes the importance of diverse perspectives and experiences to meet the needs of the communities we serve. We welcome diversity across our membership and in our community partnerships.

Mission Statement

Founded in 1968, SPRITES is a philanthropic organization of mothers and daughters dedicated to volunteering their time and resources to San Diego County charities. SPRITES began in 1968 as an organization to teach teens, grades 7-12, the value of volunteering in their community, while building strong relationships with others. Our name represents our core values of Spiritual, Philanthropic, Recreational, Inspirational, Training, Educational, and Social.

The purpose of the non-profit organization shall be to encourage year-round mother and daughter participation in community affairs. This shall include social, cultural, educational, and philanthropic activities.

What We Do

SPRITES raise funds that directly support our adopted philanthropies. Each year, SPRITES contribute more than 5,000 hours to local charities.
