Many mothers and daughters who have participated in SPRITES wish to continue their philanthropic involvement and stay connected to the SPRITES of East County community. Becoming a SPRITES Sustainer allows alumni to extend their membership beyond graduation and continue to make an impact.

Annual Sustainer Event

Our annual Sustainer and Alumni Event was a powerful reminder of the strength of our community. Hosted at Hillside Ranch Vineyard, the gathering brought together dedicated members for an afternoon of connection and appreciation.

Surrounded by lush gardens and sweeping vineyard views, guests shared ideas and celebrated our shared mission over wine and charcuterie. We are deeply grateful for this community and look forward to gathering again soon.

Meet the “The Betty’s”

  • Betty Brayshay

    Betty Brayshay received the 1st Annual SPRITES Alumni Award, "The Betty"

    Betty Brayshay is the founder of SPRITES and served as the first SPRITES President in 1968. Betty founded SPRITES with the purpose of bringing mothers and daughters together to understand the power of community service. Now, 55 years later, we are still committed to her vision.


  • Cathy March

    Cathy March received the 2nd Annual SPRITES Alumni Award, "The Betty"

    Cathy March has continuously dedicated her time to SPRITES and local philanthropies since 1994. Her contributions to our community, her leadership, and her tireless volunteerism have had a lasting impact.

  • Margaret “Pud” Wood

    Margaret Wood received the 3rd Annual SPRITES Alumni Award, "The Betty"

    In 1968, alongside her dear friend Betty Brayshay, Pud helped shape the early spirit of SPRITES. Known as the organizer and motivator, meetings were often held in the Wood home. Pud fostered mentorship and brought warmth, leadership, and a deep sense of community to the organization.
